Shows that the film is an action genre, could be that the protagonist is protecting the person they care most for. 
Emphasizes the action sequence that may be occurring. It could also indicate to the audience how serious the action scene is. If the 'upbeat music' sounds lighter or bit comedic it could suggest that the fighting may have commenced due to love trouble. On the other hand, if the 'upbeat music' sounds heavier and serious, could indicate to the audience that this scene is high significantly for the movie.
