Reflection of choice of genre

Initially I wanted to carry out a period drama film opening. However through researching the convention and doing a timeline of 'Pride & Prejudice' helped me to comprehend what is required of an period drama opening. Which to my dismay found out that setting and costumes is the key into bring the opening to life. One of my biggest problem was not being able to have easy access to costumes from the 18th/19th century.

Another great downfall was the setting, there is no doubt that England still conserve historical buildings however, that was not the problem. The problem is that most of them are situated outside of London, which meant that in a case of re-shooting, it would not be easy to back to the location. Another problem was having these place vacated (as back in the 16th there were not cars around and women dressed in trousers) or booked which is time consuming and at times I would have had to pay for the reservation.
